BUT, CHANNSOPHEA, Born in 1988, Battambang, daughter of But, Bunann (construction worker) and Chem Channthou (housewife), is the first student to receive our CEE Foundation scholarship for 2007-2008 fiscal year. She is undertaking a Bachelor of Economics at the University of Law and Economics in Phnom Penh. She graduated from  Upper  Secondary School,   Preh  Monivong  High School, Battambang, in 2006.

Phanith has been the No. 1 student at BA NOY High School, Srok Prey Kabbas, Takeo. He was one of the top three students in his region. He was raised by a divorced mother with five children, one of them already got married. Receiving no support from her ex-husband, his mother sells the vegetable for a living to support the four children. She has no farm land.

Venerable Hean Son is originally from Kampuchea Krom, presently resides at Watt LaingKa in Phnom Penh. He is from a poor family, raised by widow mother with 4 children.
